Thousands Left Without Power in Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Powerful Weather Systems
Around twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland were left without power on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms impacted the area, bringing strong winds topping 109km/h.
Substantial Ice Stones and Broad Impact
Locals observed giant hailstones as large as seven centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that various areas across the state had been affected by significant hail.

Response teams were attempting to repair power throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams activated to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victorian Climate Difficulties
At the same time, approximately 1,000 households in the southern state also faced energy failures after the metropolitan area saw its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
Rescue organizations handled 598 calls for help across the region, mainly for building damage but also for fallen timber and inundation.

- Wyndham area - nearly 180 emergency requests
At one point on the previous day, in excess of 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were experiencing outages.
Weather Forecast
Humid circumstances were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to attract humidity against the coast.
The following day was forecast to be the wettest day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential expected across multiple regions of both regions.
Health Warning
Health officials warned that there was an greater possibility of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This caution comes after past events where similar conditions led to significant health impacts in the area.
