An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
